29th-Mar-2008 05:58 am - I stand around at american weddings
where is my head
where are my bones
why are my days so far from home?

how come we get so lost?

where is my head
where are my bones
can you save me from myself?

those of you who are religious, please say a prayer for me,
the rest of you, rub a worry stone, or kill small animals or whatever people like you do.
There's some stuff going on at work that is really stressing me out right now,
and I'm going to try to change some of it tonight. I don't know how it will go,
I just know that if something doesn't change, the chances of me needing to find a new job are pretty high.
Other than that, life's fine. (wow. I remember when I updated this weekly, if not more often. i wanna work on that...)

28th-May-2007 07:15 am - Good Morning Starshine [confused, work]
I just don't know how morning people do it.
I'm getting home from work, it's light everywhere, there are strange noises (dad says that they were 'birds'?) businesses are open...
It's confusing and frightening.
I'm going to bed, and I can only hope that whenever I wake up things are back to normal.

I'm listening to a techno remix of a Tupac song.
It is remarkably lacking in the suck department.
That is all.

Step 2: Post the first line from the first 15 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

I run a comb through my hair/and step out in the street
sprawling on the fringes of the city/in geometric order
Are you still in to it?/'cause I'm still in to it.
Your Love is fading/I feel it fade
When I get up in the Morning/Got a World of trouble on my mind
hello my friend/we meet again

Better than watching Geller bending silver spoons/better than witnessing new born nebulas in bloom
I want someone to love/a girl that when I think of
You're in my head/tormenting me

24th-Feb-2007 12:30 am - Cleaning teh Fridge
There are certain aspects of my personality that I loathe.
Case in point: my tendency to, once something passes a certain threshold, decided that dealing with it is more trouble than the eventual explosion of suck.
Tonight, I finally needed my pyrex bowl enough to clean it. It has been sitting in my fridge for the last month+ with some fruit-salad remnants in it. When I removed the lid, it smelled like I was trying to invent a new type of alcohol (unless there's already one made by fermenting pineapple....)
(some of my other tendencies, however, do help mitigate my bad ones, in this instance, my iron-clad rule that I always have disposable surgery gloves on-hand)

17th-Jan-2007 04:19 am - An Evening Blessing
"Saviour, Breathe an evening blessing, Ere repose our spirits seal;
Sin and want we come confessing: Thou canst save, and Thou canst heal."

"Now the day is over,
  Night is drawing nigh,
  Shadows of the evening
  Steal across the sky;

"Jesus, give the weary
  Calm and sweet repose,
  With Thy tenderest blessing
  May our eyelids close."

Watch Thou, dear Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight,
and give Thine angels charge of those who sleep. Tend Thy sick ones,
O Lord Christ. Rest Thy weary ones. Bless Thy dying ones.
Pity Thine afflicted ones. Shield Thy joyous ones.
And all, for Thy Love's sake. Amen.

It really is the small pleasures that get to me.
It's half-past three, and I'm sitting in my chair, and having my delicious supper, (A glass of juice, a ham sandwich, and a pudding cup) and all is well with the world.
It doesn't matter that tomorrow is going to suck.
I haven't been sleeping well lately: I'll be tired.
Mom's awake and walking: She wants to have a 'talk' tomorrow.
the new OpSuper is a complete retard: I'll have to deal with him, without telling him the truth and getting myself fired.
My girlfriend is in NC, I am in NE. I won't see her for at least another month, maybe more.
but right now, that's in the far distant future, and I am content.
I will go to bed, and sleep. Tomorrow is another day, maybe I'm being too pessimistic. We'll see....
...and in my dreams, I fly...

21st-Sep-2006 02:23 am - quick update
Well, in a few minutes, (depending on Pandora deciding to behave herself tonight), I shall be shutting down and unplugging, for... a period of time. During this period of time, lasting no longer than until monday morning, but at least until thursday afternoon//evening, I shall be out of contact via teh intarwebs. However, I shall be in areas where my cell has service!!! (Yes, they have those. They're just put in places where they are of no normal use to me) so, if you need me, though I can't see why, I will still be around.
Anyway, the deal is this: Something came up. I have asked for, and received the time off from work. We'll be leaving sometime later this morning. I'm shutting Pandora off now as I won't have time later. I hope I can work a mini-vacation into this, as I desperately need one. (Full explanation whenever I get around to posting about my summer) As I don't yet know all of the details of what's going on, I shall refrain from speaking at any more length on it. Have a lovely [period of time], and I'll catch you on the flipside.

The following is a formula to determine the difference in velocity as imparted by the rotational force of the earth between two points of differing heights (with the same relative location, by elevation and by latitude).

π(H1 - H2)/86400

If the result is positive, Object with Height=H1 is moving faster than Object with Height=H2.
If the result is negative, Object with Height=H1 is moving slower than Object with Height=H2

The answer will be in ft/sec.

Bigger equation, smaller thinking:
π{[ft1(12) + in1/12] - [ft2(12) + in2/12]}/86400

Erick's tip #392 to look like a complete tool in public:

Listen to music that you havn't heard before that may include sound effects.
For example: Listen to a song that contains emergency vehicle sirens, and then spend twenty seconds whipping your head around, trying to figure out where they're coming from before realizing that it's your earphones.

19th-Jan-2006 11:03 pm - You know who you are.
You've had your say. I have listened, and I will consider.
You are not to bring it up again.

If you mention it on the phone, I will hang up, on that call, and on subsequent calls until I decide otherwise.
If you mention it in an email, I will not reply, and I will killfile your address until I decide otherwise.
If you mention it in LJ, I will defriend you, and ban_set you, across all journals until I decide otherwise.

You may believe me, or not.
You may take me seriously, or not.
    It is your choice.
For your sake alone, I recommend the first of each pair.
    Bastard!!
    12th-Jan-2006 04:30 am - pain, etc.
I really don't want to go through with this. I really don't like pain, and this has the possiblity of really, really hurting. I'd honestly just rather leave it alone. I know that if I don't get it taken care of now, that it'll just get worse, it might even get to the point that it spreads, but that pain is in the future, it's not nearly as immediate as this is going to be. I really don't like surgery, either. The thought of having Dr. Scott take care of this himself wasn't so bad, but now that I'm going to an actual surgon, with all the fun of general anesthesia, well, it isn't helping reassure me. I don't have a problem with surgery, exactly, or even with getting knocked out, although I really do like being aware of myself at all times, but a place I've never been, and a doctor I've never met certainly do contribute to the general anxiety I'm feeling.
And seriously, isn't enough enough? This is going to be the third fucking dental operation in the last week and a half, the fourth in the last month and a half. Damnit, when will this be done?
It's at times like these that I really regret the placement of my friends.
